Lebanon and the military tradition
For most of the 20th century, Lebanon was home to Castle Heights Military Academy. It opened in 1902, became a military school during World War I and closed in 1986, and part of the old campus still stands off West Main Street. Lebanon understands discipline and follow-through. Don Hane served two tours in the U.S. Navy, including Desert Storm, and those are the standards he holds his crews to.
Three eras of Lebanon roofs
Around the square and Cumberland University, older homes have steep roofs, chimneys and sometimes original board decking. Brick ranches and split-levels from the mid to late 1900s fill the established neighborhoods. Newer subdivisions like Five Oaks, Hamilton Springs and Hickory Knoll keep spreading along I-40 and Highway 109. A 1960s ranch on its third roof may have a second layer hiding soft decking, while a 10-year-old home may just need a pipe boot. We check the attic and the roof edges before we recommend anything.
Homes on open land toward Cedars of Lebanon State Park and the farms east of town take more wind, so we pay extra attention to ridge caps and edge sealing there. We also roof barns and outbuildings with metal roofing.
The 2020 tornado and after
On March 3, 2020, the tornado that hit Mt. Juliet crossed Highway 109 into Lebanon and damaged dozens of homes and businesses on the south side of the city. In May 2024, straight-line winds up to 85 mph hit the Taylorsville area north of town. After a storm we photograph the roof and give you a written report you can send with a claim. You stay in charge of the claim.
Inside city limits, the City of Lebanon handles permits. We confirm with the city and handle any permit the job requires. See our Lebanon roofing page, roof repair in Lebanon, roof replacement in Lebanon and storm damage roofing in Lebanon.
