Retired here after serving? So did a lot of your neighbors
Mt. Juliet draws a lot of retirees, especially to communities like Del Webb Lake Providence, and plenty of them wore a uniform. If that’s you, you already know what you want from a contractor: a plan, a straight answer and no games. Don Hane served two tours in the U.S. Navy, including Desert Storm, and has been roofing Middle Tennessee since 2010. He runs Roof Troops with that same expectation.
Roofs rebuilt in a hurry
The March 3, 2020 tornado shaped Mt. Juliet’s roofs. It caused EF-2 damage around Chandler Road and Triple Crown Parkway, then strengthened to EF-3 near Catalpa Drive and Clearview Drive. Many west-side homes got new roofs within a year or two of each other. Those roofs are still fairly young, but crews were stretched thin after the storm, and quality varied. If your roof went on in 2020 or 2021, have it checked. We look at nailing, starter strips, flashing and ventilation, the details that get skipped when crews are overbooked.
Older homes off Lebanon Road and around Old Mt. Juliet are more likely to be on original or second roofs, and there we check shingle age and decking first. Communities like Providence, Willoughby Station, Jackson Hills and Hickory Hills each have their own mix.
Permits, HOAs and ice
The City of Mt. Juliet requires a residential re-roof permit with a rough-in and final inspection, and it wants to see the signed contract first. We pull the permit and schedule both inspections. In HOA communities like Providence and Del Webb, we give you the shingle line and color for review before you sign.
The January 2026 ice storm hit western Wilson County hard, with reports near Green Hill of up to 0.6 inch of freezing rain. After any storm we photograph the roof and give you a written report you can send with a claim. The claim itself is between you and your insurer. See our Mt. Juliet roofing page and storm damage repair.
We’re hiring veterans
Don is the only veteran at Roof Troops right now. We’re actively hiring veterans for crew and field roles. Call 615-258-9977.
