We install and repair metal roofs in Lebanon and around Wilson County, on houses, shops and barns. Why metal makes sense around Lebanon

Once you get out past town toward Cedars of Lebanon State Park, the land opens up and the wind has nothing to slow it down. Shingles on open lots lift and lose their seal in spring storms. A properly fastened metal roof stands up to that wind, sheds rain and ice quickly, and can last 40 to 70 years, against roughly 25 to 30 for architectural shingles.

Metal also fits the buildings out here. A lot of properties have a house plus a shop or barn, and putting metal on both gives you one roof style and one schedule of upkeep.

Standing seam or exposed fastener?

Standing seam panels lock together at raised seams, and the fasteners are hidden underneath. There are no screws through the face to wear out, so upkeep is low. It costs more, and it’s what most people choose on a home.

Exposed fastener panels are screwed through the face of the metal. They cost less and work well on barns, shops and simple house roofs. The tradeoff is the screws: their rubber washers age in the sun, and that’s where most metal roof leaks start. Plan on having them checked every few years.

Metal on a house in town

Near the historic square and Cumberland University, and on the mid-century brick ranches around town, metal can look right at home, especially standing seam in a muted color. In newer neighborhoods like Five Oaks, Hamilton Springs and Hickory Knoll, check your HOA rules first. We give you the panel type and color in writing to submit.

Metal roof repairs

If your metal roof is leaking, the cause is usually one of these: worn screw washers, loose or backed-out screws, failed sealant at the ridge and trim, or flashing around a pipe or chimney. We replace fasteners, re-seal trim with roof-grade sealant, and re-flash penetrations. On older barns with rusted panels, we’ll show you which panels can be saved and which can’t.

What install looks like

We check the decking or purlins, put down a high-temperature underlayment on homes, and fasten panels to the manufacturer’s spec, which matters a lot in high wind. Metal jobs usually take longer than a shingle roof of the same size. We’ll give you a real schedule before we start. Every metal roof we install carries our lifetime workmanship warranty plus the manufacturer’s warranty.

Lebanon metal roofing questions

Is a metal roof louder in the rain?

On a house with solid decking, underlayment and an insulated attic, most people hear little difference. On an open barn or shop with no decking, rain is louder.

Can you put metal on my barn and my house?

Yes. We install metal on homes, shops and barns, and we can match the color so the property looks like one place.

How long does a metal roof last?

A well-installed metal roof can last 40 to 70 years. Exposed fastener roofs need their screws checked every few years to get there.

Do you repair leaking metal roofs?

Yes. Most leaks come from worn screw washers, loose fasteners, trim sealant or flashing around pipes, and we fix all of those.
